Principals
James Kunkel, President
James has spent all of his career building technology and managing technology
companies. He founded Generated Solutions in 1988 and has developed it into a
successful consulting and contract development business. As a consultant, James
has specialized in software tools and e-Commerce business application development.
Throughout his career, James has developed considerable project management and product development experience. In parallel to his role with Generated Solutions, James was a founder and President & CEO of WirelessMoney Inc., was Chief Technology Officer for e-Auction Global Trading Inc., was Vice President of Technology for Sanga (USA) Inc. and was a founder and Vice President of Technology for iGate Technologies Inc. - the sale of which in 1999 made James an early principal in Basis100 Inc.
With Generated Solutions, James is a Senior Consultant and is also responsible for the short and long range objectives for the company. He also represents the company to the financial community, customers, business partners, potential partners and the public
James holds an Honours Bachelor of Math, Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo.
Thorsten Schiller, VP and Senior Consultant
Thorsten is an experienced software architect, manager and developer. He is a principal
in the company and has worked with Generated Solutions in varying capacities since 1991 -
when he had his first co-op placement with the company.
Thorsten also spent several years working for the Waterloo division of Sybase Inc. (formerly Watcom International Inc.) on the highly successful Watcom C/C++ compiler and PowerJ Java products. While at Sybase, Thorsten became accustomed to the project leadership role and headed several projects ranging from porting parts of the Watcom C/C++ compiler to the DEC Alpha processor to the development of a platform and language independent debugger. Thorsten was also the founder and principal of Software Initiatives Inc., as well as a co-founder of iGate Technologies Inc. The sale of iGate in 1999 made Thorsten an early principal in Basis100 Inc.
With Generated Solutions, Thorsten is a Senior Consultant and he is responsible for the technology strategy of the company. He applies his years of experience as an enterprise architect and developer to refining the methodology and execution that Generated Solutions employs.
Thorsten holds an Honours Bachelor of Math in Computer Science, with a Minor in Combinatorics and Optimization, from the University of Waterloo.
